Tulikivi Installation

Step one

One of the pleasures of owning a Tulikivi is knowing that it was hand-built on site in your home by our specially trained Tulikivi installer. You can even help build it! Most installation take only 1 to 2 days

  • Traditional foundation not necessary - There are other alternatives to a concrete foundation! The area should be a smooth level surface to match the unit, (supplied by other contractor)
  • Venting Can be installed into a existing chimney or a class A chimney . Ask us for placement

Step Two

The outer layer of soapstone is put into place first, then the firebox and the internal flues are built.

  • Inside view - Get a true understanding of how the unit works. See how the chambers are made and the flow pattern of the flue gases.
  • Clearances - Can be reduced to as little as three inches!

Step Three

The stones are then carefully set and squared, The fire cap stones and internal insulation are placed on the top of the fireplace.

  • Insulation - Under the cap stones provide heat down and then out of the unit.
  • Hearth - Dean's can provide you with matching soapstone tiles to compliment your fireplace and protect your floor from sparks.

Step Four

In the final stage of construction, the hardware and doors are fitted and the final touches are put on, any decorative additions, such as the rough veneer on this model.

  • Authorized installers - Let one of our factory trained installation teams install your Tulikivi.
  • The initial firing - Your installation team will show you how to fire the unit and go over unit and damper system.
