Factory Weekends at Dean's Stove & Spa
We bring the factorys to you!
Dean's Stove & Spa, home of Connecticut's largest selection of wood, gas and pellet burning stoves and inserts, brings you everything but the factory itself on select weekends this fall. Top representatives from leading manufacturers will be on hand in Dean's huge showroom. With live demonstrations and special one of a kind factory discounts on the latest products in clean burn technology. This season beat the high cost of fuel and heat your home more efficiently with a new stove or insert from Dean's Stove & Spa.
These Factory Weekends will be held in September and October 2011. The deals that will be offered during these weekends will not be offered any other time. Be sure to come visit us during these weekends:

For over twenty years, Travis Industries has been a manufacturer of premium quality wood and gas fireplaces; wood, gas and pellet fireplace inserts; and wood, gas and pellet freestanding stoves. Travis Industries Technical Service representatives will be available at our Travis Industries Factory Weekend ready to answer your questions about their product, venting and installation.
This Factory Weekend will be a truly unique expirience. We will have tents set up and different exhibits and displays during our Oktoberfest Celebration in conjunction with the Hearthstone Pub. They will be offering great food and drink during this event. Be sure to come celebrate the season and see some of the worlds best hearth products on display.

A history of Travis Industries
- 1979 The Lopi line of stoves - the first in the hearth industry to feature solid brass arched doors - is developed and launched by Kurt Rumens.
- 1980 The company pioneers the now standardized use of clear ceramic glass and a pre-heated airwash system to keep the fire view clean.
- 1984 Travis becomes the first U.S. hearth products manufacturer to develop an EPA-certified non-catalytic wood stove.
- 1985 The Avalon line of Stoves is developed.
- 1988 Travis Garske purchases Lopi and Avalon, and the company becomes Travis Industries, Inc.
- 1992 Travis Industries acquires Fireplace Xtrordinair, featuring the first EPA certified wood burning fireplaces.
- 1993 Travis sets a new record in emissions reduction by breaking the 2.0-gram-per-hour non-catalytic emissions barrier with the Lopi line of appliances.
- 1994 In a study conducted by industry expert Dan Melcon, Avalon is rated the cleanest burning line of wood stoves in the world.
- 2000 A modulating remote control thermostat for improved user convenience is developed for all Travis gas appliances.
- 2000 Ember Fyre™ is introduced, featuring a revolutionary gas burner utilizing cutting edge ceramic fire technology that makes the fire of a gas stove almost indistinguishable from the fire of a wood stove.
- 2000 Popular Science magazine selects Ember Fyre as one of the year's 100 greatest achievements in science and technology.
- 2001 In a survey conducted by Popular Science, consumers vote Ember Fyre one of the top ten greatest achievements in science and technology for the year 2000.
- 2002 Travis Industries wins seven Vesta awards at the HPBA Convention including the Fireplace Xtrordinair Bed & Breakfast Fireplace which was awarded "Best of Show" in its category.
- 2003 Travis Industries wins Vesta awards at the HPBA Convention for the LOPI Looking Glass Gas Fireplace and the LOPI Sweet Dreams Gas Stove.
- 2004 Travis Industries is awarded Consumer Digest's Best Buy for the Fireplace Xtrordinair Model 36-XL.
- 2005 Travis Industries is awarded Best New Product for the FPX Bed & Breakfast Fireplace at the International Builders' Show by Barbara Winfield of Woman's Day.
- 2007 Travis Industries wins six Vesta awards at the HPBA Convention including the Tempest Torch™ which received Best of Show Outdoor Products, and the Fireplace Xtrordinair Xtreme™ gas fireplace which was awarded "Best of Show" Hearth products.
- 2008 Travis Industries wins two Vesta awards at the HPBA Convention for the Fire Sculpture logsets in the Fireplace Xtrordinair Xtreme™ Gas Fireplace and for the Illuminations Electric Fireplace™.
